When I'm searching around for cool tips on the subject of Twitter I usually end up with the same old articles. These social media strategists are giving out the same advice time and time again. They say stuff like “be genuine” and “post great content.” Well I have something to say to these guys; DUH! How is that supposed to gain people followers right away?
Tip One
Talk About Anything!
That’s right! Sure you may have a certain niche that you are all about, but so what? Not everyone that follows you is interested in what you like. I don’t necessarily mean tweet about anything though. I mean you should go down your wall and see what people are talking about. Find a tweet that somewhat catches your interest and start replying! Start talking to this person about whatever and watch your followers grow. People are reading your conversation and if they like you, they will follow you. Not only will you gain more followers, but you will gain a friend on Twitter that will maybe reply and RT your awesome content.
Tip Two
Take Followers
Don’t have many followers? This top tip will literally give you enough followers to get started on Twitter. I am going to say you are a small business (maybe you’re not) and you are just starting out in social networking, or you are struggling. You have been fighting for all those followers and have paid with your sweat and blood. Guess what? So did your competitors! Find a business similar to yours (preferably in the same area) and follow their followers. You should only follow the users that look like genuine customers. The theory behind this is that they have already followed a similar service or product. If the users see that you followed them, they are likely to follow you back. Remember to do this in mass numbers (200-300 a day.) This strategy has worked for me time and time again.
